Pinellas County used to be one of Florida’s best-kept secrets on the west-central coast, but the word is out. The area is thriving and growing, and it’s no secret as to why: top rated beaches, art, culture and a neighborhood for just about everyone makes Pinellas County a true gem.
 
Whether you’re looking for a laid-back beach town, a bustling, walkable downtown or a quiet suburb, Pinellas County has a place for you. Here’s a sampling of what the area has to offer:
 

Downtown St. Petersburg

In the past few years, Downtown St. Petersburg has become the cultural heart of Pinellas County. The waterfront city is walkable and offers a regular rotation of events and markets to suit every persuasion. It’s hip and lively atmosphere includes an array of art galleries, restaurants and bars. Downtown St. Petersburg is also home to several major museums, including the Salvador Dali Museum and the James Museum. The neighborhood has an urban feel with plenty of high-rise apartments and condos, making it an ideal location for young professionals.
 

Clearwater

Clearwater is a family-friendly beach town that’s known for its stunning white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters and year-round sunshine. The neighborhood has a relaxed atmosphere with a focus on outdoor activities, including fishing, boating and golfing. Dunedin

The neighborhood has a peaceful atmosphere with tree-lined streets, historic homes and a scenic waterfront. The area also has several breweries, restaurants, and art galleries, making it an excellent location for retirees or empty-nesters. If the quiet and a little more space, with proximity to the bigger cities appeal to you, Dunedin might be a great location to explore.
 

Palm Harbor

Palm Harbor is a suburban neighborhood located on the east coast of Pinellas County that’s a bit more affordable than St. Petersburg or Tampa and appeals to families. The neighborhood has a friendly atmosphere with plenty of parks, golf courses and nature preserves. It offers a bit of quiet and a nod to slower living but is still close to the action provided by Clearwater, Tampa, and St. Petersburg.
 

Oldsmar

Oldsmar is a small town located on the west coast of Pinellas County that’s known for its outdoor activities and proximity to Tampa. The neighborhood has a relaxed atmosphere with several parks, nature preserves, and a beautiful waterfront area. Nature abounds and there’s a palpable focus on family in Oldsmar, making it a great place to raise kids.
